Mating of the Beasts

"Mating of the Beasts" was the second series A. M. Reed created. It is slightly more mature than her previous series, "Mating of the Beasts" but still safe for most ages.

There is one short story in this series which can be read before or after reading either of the two main books. It is closely related, but you neither have to read it to understand the events in the other books, nor read the other books to understand the events in it.

Pursued (a Mating of the Beasts short story)
After returning to her childhood vacation home, Chloe finds that a secluded cabin in the woods isn’t necessarily the safest place to be. She flees for her life as a werewolf chases her through the familiar cabin, but is the creature truly what he seems to be? Is he a bloodthirsty werewolf…? Or something more…?

This is part of the “Mating of the Beasts” series, but can stand alone. You do not need to read the other books to understand the going ons.

This novelette is about 11,000 words.

1. The Finicky Feline
The Stines are a normal family...a nice home, a thriving antique business, and two kids. Son Eric, in high school, has a secret girlfriend while Lea, high school graduate and general loner, spends her time knee deep in the family business.

But this family has a secret...a secret none of them can share. Within each of them lies a Beast...a Beast they must learn to control...and that is not an easy task.

To complicate things, a stranger arrives on their doorstep, and although the family welcomes him into their circle, Lea has too many walls to trust anyone completely. The stranger begins to pull Lea's walls down, one at a time, but when she finally begins to accept him, another stranger arrives with information that could turn Lea's world upside down.

Torn between feelings she can not control and information she can not deny, Lea is faced with a choice...a choice that could endanger all of them

2. Beast Man
Having defeated an evil, human-killing Beast, Rowen hopes that the threat to his Mate, Lea has passed. However, the universe apparently has a different plan.

When Teryn, a male Beast from Rowen’s old Pack, brings news that a group of Rogues plans to exact revenge on Rowen for killing their Alpha, everything goes topsy tervy once more for Hector Stine’s Pack.

Hoping to help, Teryn is blindsided by an unexpected distraction...that of a human female he feels inexplicably drawn to.

Can Teryn protect the Pack as well as the fragile female and her family? Or will the Rogues’ dastardly plan to take their revenge, as well as the Pack, succeed?
